Fridays with Friends featuring Creative Clips and Blonde Ambition!!!

Oh boy..... am I about to knock your socks off!!!!

I have two amazing women with me today for my
Fridays with Friends!

Now, let me first explain something...this was called Must Have Monday. Well I decided to change the name because I found there was another blogger using the same title for a post series and well...who wants to be like someone else, right?...and second, I like "Fridays with Friends" because the people I feature are people that I have met along the way, either helping me out by giving me advice, inspiring me, being a loyal follower of my work, and just being a good friend.

So today these two wonderful ladies have something very special to share with you. Be sure to check the end of the post for an amazing giveaway!!!!!

First up is Nicole Shelby from Teaching With Blonde Ambition. She is a top seller on TpT and she's here to show you why!! :)
Teaching with Blonde Ambition

Hello, my name is Nicole and my blog is Teaching with Blonde Ambition.  To tell you a little bit about myself, I am a 4th grade teacher in Kentucky.  I love creating materials and sharing ideas for teachers to use in their classrooms!  One trend that has recently come to the forefront in education is interactive notebooking (yes, I made up that word).  LOL!!  I am going to share with you a little about notebooking and how it works in my classroom.

I teach Language Arts and a couple of years ago, KY adopted the Common Core Standards.  With the adoption of the standards, I definitely changed the way I went about teaching.  I begin each day with some kind of quick bell ringer that reviews standards I have previously taught (just to keep those fresh).  Then, I teach a mini-lesson using a mentor text.  If this standard is new to the students, we create an interactive notebook page, in our Composition notebooks, that addresses all the important components such as vocabulary, examples, etc.  This interactive notebook page, serves as a guide for the students when I give the students an opportunity to do small group or individual practice of the skill.  I think of the notebooks as mini anchor charts for the kids to reference all year long.

If you teach the Common Core and you are interested in notebooking, I have several products available in my store that might be of interest to you.  I have Reading and Language notebooks for grades 2nd-5th grade.  Although, I sell these files separately, my students only have one Composition notebook for the reading and language.  Here is a sneak peek of my notebooks.

As part of this giveaway, you will have the opportunity to win one a notebook of your choice.  If you want to see what's inside the notebooks, please visit my blog or TpT store for previews.

Next we have Krista from Creative Clips!! She is also a Top Clipart seller on TpT.

The Creative Chalkboard

Hi gals and guys! I’m Krista Wallden from the blog, The Creative Chalkboard, and creator of Creative Clips Clipart (well there’s an alliteration if I’ve ever heard one!). Tammy was so sweet to invite me over to be a part of her “Fridays with Friends” giveaway!
Let me give you my little “bio in a nutshell” before I tell you about my clipart set that I would love for you to win!
I have been teaching for two years and have taught first and third grade. I loved them both, so I’m sure I will love teaching second grade next year. Yep- three grade levels in my first three years of teaching!!
I have always loved art and have been doodling for as long as I can remember. Acrylic paint, charcoal, colored pencil, pastel- you name it, I love it! It never occurred to make my art “digital” until a little over a year ago. Thus- Creative Clips Digital Clipart was born! I absolutely love creating clipart for teachers to use. I still get excited every time I see a product on TpT that uses my clipart! It amazes me how people use the same clipart in such different ways.
So- when Tammy contacted me about including one of my sets in her giveaway, I was super excited! It’s hard to believe that it is already August and let’s be honest, you can’t escape the fact that school is just around the corner…or you may have already started…gasp! Well, aside for my love of brand new packs of sharp crayons and classroom décor, I love back to school giveaways! What better reason than to throw some prizes your way while you are elbow deep in bulletin board borders and classroom bin labels!

The set that I am offering is my KIDS Big Bundle.

I figure we are all getting ready to welcome in a new class of kiddos, why not give you some “digital kiddos” too! This set has 85 images, both color and black and white, with TONS of kids. I tried to include a lot of diversity, including different skin colors and children in wheelchairs. These images work well any time of the year and with any themed resource, so I thought it would be a good one to offer up to you!
Good luck to everyone and thanks again to Tammy for having me! I hope everyone has a fantastic start to their school year!!

Thanks ladies for joining me for Fridays with Friends!!!

Also, the winner gets my Star Bundle Digital Paper pack!

This is one great giveaway where the winner gets ALL 3 prizes!!!!!! There are many ways to enter!!! Good luck everyone!! I will be announcing the winner next Wednesday!!

  2. I love the idea of interactive notebooking! I've been playing with ideas of how to use it in first grade this year. I used it a little in second and I'm looking forward to bringing it down to first as well. :) Thanks for highlighting two great ladies!
