"My Memories" Digital Scrapbooking Software Giveaway!

If your a mother like me, you have tons of pictures laying around, lots of scrapbook binders just waiting to be filled, paper laying around everywhere with cutting tools to make the cutest page possible.....but it's just finding the time and the storage for it all!!! Makes you want to scream right?!?!

Well I came across this digital scrapbooking software that will make your "scrapbooking" life easier and more fun!

Just to give you a little idea, take a look at a few of these tutorials.

I'm sure you were saying....this saves me SO much time!!! And it definitely gives you the freedom to be more creative and make your books your own.

As I was browsing through all of the digital papers and backgrounds, I couldn't believe all of the options!! I want them all:) And the designers have so much to choose from that any idea you have in your head, you can definitely find it at one of their shops.
I love  how  organized the site is by theme or event to make what your looking for so much more easier to get to. The layouts are so easy to change and there so many pre-made layouts, you will definitely find what you're looking for. That's the best part....everything is already made for you. You get the joy of "playing" around with the format to personalize it the way you want.

I have been playing around with the program a little and designed this simple page.

Everything you see here already came with the program. The flower embellishments, background papers.....  I didn't have to spend a dime!! There honestly is so much to chose from that is already with the program.
I've only had this program a short time so I know there is so much more to learn, but the great thing is...it's right at my fingertips...I don't have to dig through clutter to get to it!!! BIG PLUS FOR ME!!!

So here is the great news....one of my lucky followers will receive this digital scrapbooking software for FREE!!!! That's a $40 value prize!!! WOW!!!!

If you notice on the right side of my blog, there is a My Memories Button! You get $10 off when you use my code!! So if you win this software or even if you're interested and want to try it out yourself, click on that code and you automatically get $10 off.

How to Make a Ribbon Topiary and other Party Ideas

When I started this blog back at the end of last summer, I wanted to be sure that I not only shared my clip art creations with you, but also to share some other hobbies I enjoy.

This is something that I've been wanting to share for a while now.
It's how to make a Ribbon Topiary. I'm pretty sure that if you're on Pinterest, you have seen one of these.
I wanted to make one for my daughter's birthday and this is what I did:

The first thing you will need is a a Styrofoam ball, a wooden rod, Styrofoam base, and flower pot (or box).

Or if you're lucky enough to find one of these...it's all-in-one.

I bought everything for this project from Hobby Lobby so check your craft stores before you buy everything separately.

Paint the wooden rod the color you want...I did white.... let it dry.

The next thing you'll need is A LOT of ribbon. I bought these and used about half of each roll. Depending on the size of your Styrofoam ball will also depend on how much ribbon you will need. So always get extra. You can always use the left over for another project.

Photobucket
Think about the theme of the event and get colors that fit that theme the best. Don't be afraid to use different patterns. It will all blend together!
You will also need many many pins. I bought a pack of 250 and used about half.
So....now you just start cutting your ribbon about 3 inches long. Fold the ribbon so the ends meet and stick the pin through it and stick it on your Styrofoam ball.

Alternate patterns and sizes of ribbon.

It's not going to look very pretty when you first start but as you start filling in the gaps and really tightening up the ribbon, it will turn out adorable.

For the followers who have been following me for awhile...these graphics many look very familiar!!!

Those balloons are from my Birthday Party set:)

Here are a few other pictures to share from the party:)

Cake Cones...oh you have to try these!!!

Easy to make utensil holders.....cut out patterned card stock and wrap it around a soup can. Use ribbon that matches and hot glue it around the top...Too Cute!!

Tutorial: How to Insert Your Images

Imagine this....

You've bought the cutest set of clip art and you're so excited to use it in your latest project. You download it and then....well....now what do you do?

This happens all the time....you're not alone!

Since I started doing clip art, I have received many emails from folks asking how to insert images into their document. So I thought I would take some time to do a quick tutorial on how to insert ANY image onto a blank document. The most important thing is if the file you downloaded is a zip file, be sure you "extract all" the files.

To extract the file, simply right click on the file and find extract all.

When you click on Extract All, it's going to ask you to Select a Destination. Find the place where you want to save the files and that's it!

Ok...so now you have your files extracted, it's time to start using those images!!

Open up a blank Document. I'm going to show PowerPoint and Word examples.
Find the tab at the top that says "Insert"

PowerPoint Example

Word Example

When you click on the ""Insert" tab, find the "Picture" option.

                                                                      Power Point

                                                                                Word Document

In both programs, once you click on the "Picture" option, your computer files will appear.

Find the file where your image is located and open it.

It will appear on your blank document.

You will notice that your image is outlined with dots at certain points. You can drag the sides and corners of your image so it fits perfectly onto your sheet. There is a green rotation button at the top where your can turn your image...which is what I'm going to do with this one.

Once you have it stretch out over your document, click outside of the image to remove the outline and you're done:)

I hope this tutorial helps!! I would love to hear your ideas for tutorials....what do you struggle with when it comes to using clip art??
